Cooke of No. 17 Paternoster Row, but also that it was printed for the author and other booksellers across England, as well as what might amount to a suggested retail price for an unbound and bound copy of the text.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_155\" style=\"width: 209px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/slisapps.sjsu.edu\/blogs\/280\/azurite\/files\/2013\/03\/titlepage.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-155\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-155 \" src=\"http:\/\/slisapps.sjsu.edu\/blogs\/280\/azurite\/files\/2013\/03\/titlepage-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-155\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Title Page<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The title page of the Library of Congress&#8217;s copy is signed by Anne Jones and dated December 18, 1791. \u00a0This is the only date in the book, and with the practice of owners signing and dating their books, the Library of Congress&#8217;s bibliographic data states the publication date somewhere between 1790 and 1791.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Titles The title page presents the book as The Housekeeper&#8217;s Valuable Present\u00a0or Lady&#8217;s Closet Companion, being a New and Complete Art of Preparping Confects, according to Modern Practice, comprised under the following Parts.\u00a0The Library of Congress has recorded both\u00a0The Housekeeper&#8217;s Valuable Present and\u00a0Lady&#8217;s Closet Companion as variant titles.
