These are the <em>Maishu<\/em> (\u8108\u66f8, Book of the Mai [vessels\/channels]) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/iris.ucl.ac.uk\/iris\/publication\/9139\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Yinshu<\/em><\/a> (\u5f15\u66f8, Pulling Book).<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Maishu<\/em> was composed no later than the middle of the 2nd century BCE (there was a surge in medical development at the end of the 3rd century BCE). The <em>Maishu<\/em> consists of 6 texts, which were named by Donald Harper as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ailment List<\/li>\n<li>Eleven Vessels<\/li>\n<li>Five Signs of Death<\/li>\n<li>Care of the Body<\/li>\n<li>Six Constituents<\/li>\n<li>Vessels and Vapour<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The content is a mix of pre-medical healing techniques and the foundations for medical practice. The same connection between human physiology and natural structures is present here, especially in the Six Constituents.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Yinshu&nbsp;<\/em>contains a three-part text regarding macrobiotic techniques intended to pull&nbsp;<em>qi&nbsp;<\/em>(vapor) in and through the body.
