Dear me,<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve always loved history. Regardless of geography or blood,
\nknowing how the past functioned, not in dates and names but in daily
\ndetails, has always been fascinating. So this is not unknown ground for
\nyou. And Renaissance Faires are fun: spending the day outside, geeking
\nendlessly about the minutia of history with other like-minded folk,
\ndoing hands on demonstrations for kids. There\u2019s nothing here you don\u2019t
\nlike.<\/p>\n

Sure, you may be the only Black person there, definitely one of a
\nfew, but don\u2019t let that stop you. The chances of anyone throwing rocks
\nat you are low. The chances of anyone laughing at you are high, but when
\nhas that stopped you before? [\u2026]\n

 Some will try to tell you that
\nyou are wrong, out of time, out of place. They are wrong. African people
\nhave always been travelers, traders, and scholars. The Mediterranean
\nhas never been impenetrable and we have always been everywhere.<\/p>\n

Their
\nignorance is not the truth.<\/p>\n
